Picture Frustrations

I got a phone call from JcPenny. Now, this is the kind of call that everyone hopes for.
"We are training our new photographers, and we would like to offer you a free photo shoot with two free sheets of prints. Any additional sheet that you wish to purchase will be offered at the discounted rate of $3.99"
I said I would come in, and signed up my daughter. I should say that I have taken her two times before (6 weeks, and 9 months), and the pictures were very good. I have not taken her since because I assumed it would be a total disaster. (She doesn't like strangers too much) Well, she was more cooperative than I thought, but they did everything that I told them not to. I said NO PROPS PLEASE. The photographer kept bringing prop after prop. These props are SILLY! So I kept taking them away, and the photographer kept bringing out MORE props. The whole session was frustrating to me, and I remembered again why I had not been there for over a year. I took her to some of our favorite spots around where we live, and took her picture myself. The only problem is that my camera is just a little dinky one. Sadly, I still like them better than JcPenny's photos. Too bad. Maybe I should reserve judgment until the pictures come in. In the mean time. Who ever thought that fake flowers, and silly toys make a kid look cute. If the photographer is good, they should be able to capture the "cute" in a child without the help of silly props. I will step off my soap box now.

Trip to Colorado

Fiona and I went to Colorado this past week for my family member's high school graduation, and a visit with my best friend. Colorado is absolutely beautiful. The weather was a little colder than I expected, but the sun was out, and the flowers were blooming. The week long trip went by incredibly fast! It was so great to see everyone, and I successfully converted two family members to MACs!! YEAH

O.K. A few revisions

So I haven't posted in a few days, although I think my husband is the only one checking. I tend to react strongly to things, and my last post was a bit unrealistic. I have still been drinking diet coke. I know, it is terrible. My daughter even said, "Coke", two days ago. (She is 18 months) That should tell me something.
21 more days until Fiona and I go to Colorado!! Yippy!!! I will be sure and add pictures to my blog from the trip. We will be visiting family, and my best friend, so it should be a WONDERFUL trip.

My Life is Forever Changed!!

I am curious... how many people have watched "Super Size Me"? I had the shocking privilege last night (after finishing up our taxes of course). I am still in disbelief, even after an entire night of sleep. Not only will I try never to attend another fast food place, except maybe Subway, but I am putting serious consideration to returning to my previous vegetarian diet.
60% of Americans are overweight! Another startling statistic is that 1 in 3 children born in 2000 will develop diabetes!
Why has this movie not put McDonalds out of business? That is extreme I know, but I would like to know if at least their sales have declined? Oh, and since I am giving up Fast Food and meat on this day before taxes, I am also giving up Diet Coke. Yes, you heard me correctly.

I can't believe it

Today, Fiona and I went to visit her dad, "at the office". As we were approaching his building, she points out the car window a block away, and says over and over again, "dada...dada...dada". It was amazing. I had no idea that she knew what his office building looked like, let alone recognizing it as where "dada" is.

"Dada", took a 15 minute break to walk to the neighborhood grocery with us to get some grapes for Fiona.
